Cradlepoint gives you WiFi almost anywhere

When you spend as much time on the internet as I do, you tend to go a little crazy when I’m without contact for a while. I’ve gotten better lately, but if I’m stranded out at a relatives house all day without access to the net, I tend to go through withdrawals. Checking email on my phone helps, but that just doesn’t quite cut it after a while. However, if I had one of these PHS300 personal hot spots from Cradlepoint, I’d be set.
This awesome gadget can take the internet connection from your phone, and turn it into an 802.11b/g network that you, and others (if you want) can connect to. If there are others around that you don’t want stealing your connection, then the 64/128bit encryption should be enough to keep them disconnected. What’s really good is that it’ll give you a full 3 hours worth of internet.
The only bad news is that its compatibility is limited to certain Sprint and Verizon products. Granted, they both have very strong 3G networks, but they don’t always have the best coverage area. Still, if you’ve got a Sprint or Verizon phone, this would be a lifesaver. You’ll have to pony up $179, but the next time you’re visiting someone with dial-up, you’ll be glad you have it.
