Biashara is Phone and Credit Card Payer

I think that we all know that cell phones are being used for all sorts of things that they were probably never intended for. I mean cameras and MP3 players, I mean, they are just getting way to smart!

Well, another step has been made since with the Biashara Phone. In case you are wondering the picture to the left isn’t two separate device, but one device with two separate sides. On one side, the phone, on the other side, a mobile payment reader.

That’s right, you can read credit and debit cards with this thing and can therefore do transactions. It even has a wireless printer so you can print out receipts. There is about 50 hours of standby time, which covers about 300 transactions.

The purpose of this device is to help out taxi drivers carry out payments without the necessity of carrying too much cash. I believe it is slated to be launched in Kenya.
